The draft programme for the 15th Cape Town Convention Conference is now available.
The Conference will take place on Wednesday, 23rd and Thursday, 24th September 2026 at the Crausaz Wordsworth Building, Robinson College, Cambridge, with the option to attend either in person or online. It falls in a year of particular significance, marking the 100th anniversary of UNIDROIT and the 25th anniversary of the Cape Town Convention.
This year’s Conference offers an interdisciplinary consideration of the Cape Town Convention in the light of geopolitics. As an international treaty which generates economic benefit through the legal certainty it creates, the extent to which the operation of the Convention may be affected by the geopolitical situation is a matter of considerable significance. The programme brings together experts in law, international studies, economics and business, drawn from academia, practice and industry, to discuss the Convention and treaty compliance in the light of international relations, game theory, international law, law and economics, and financial sectors comparable to asset finance. As in previous years, ample time is reserved for questions and discussion from the floor.
A conference dinner will be held at Selwyn College on the evening of 23rd September.
