The Cape Town Convention Academic Project (CTCAP) successfully promoted its Draft Guide on Best Practices for Electronic Business Registries (BPEBR Guide) at the Corporate Registers Forum (CRF) 2025 Annual Meeting, held from 7-10 October in Tunis, Tunisia. The CRF is the leading international association of corporate registries, and the event gathered over 200 registry professionals from around the world.

Kateryna Bovsunovska, Legal Consultant at UNIDROIT, presented the BPER Project and the Draft Guide to a diverse audience of registry experts, technology providers, and digital transformation professionals. The presentation was part of a panel discussion featuring four active contributors to the project: Justin Hygate, Julian Lamb, John Murray, and Ieva Tarailiene.

The panelists provided first-hand accounts of their experience developing the Guide, highlighted its unique value proposition for the registry community, and strongly encouraged participants to engage with the final stage of the project. The BPER presentation was met with great interest and received excellent feedback, underscoring the global need for a uniform framework of best practices.

A key focus of the presentation was promoting the targeted consultation phase for the Draft Guide. This phase is crucial for ensuring the Guide, which identifies 24 Critical Performance Factors (CPFs) for effective business registries, is practical, clear, and addresses the real-world challenges faced by registries globally.

The targeted consultation is currently open until 1 November 2025.

Registry professionals are invited to contribute their expertise and submit feedback to shape the final document. If you already have a password, please proceed directly to the targeted consultation page, which includes the survey form, the Draft Guide, and the instructions.
