September 11 - September 12

Cape Town Convention Academic Project – 13th Conference

 11th and 12th September 2024

Save the Date

This year’s conference will be held on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th of September 2024. It will be held at Jesus College, Cambridge as an in-person conference, but also with the opportunity to join virtually for anyone who is not able to join in person.

TThe conference this year will start with a keynote address on the significance of the coming into force of the Rail Protocol in March 2024, and many of the sessions will include discussion of not only the aircraft, but also the rail and MAC protocols. As usual, the programme will include contributions from leading legal academics and other Cape Town Convention experts, and the sessions will include ample opportunity for questions and debate.

Topics to be discussed include discussions of procedural law and enforcement under the CTC, the registration requirements and the treatment of non-consensual interests under the aircraft, rail and MAC protocols, a discussion of the insolvency provisions in those three protocols and an in-depth analysis of the GOL case in the US. There will also be a discussion of financing practices in different parts of the asset finance sector and the CTC.

Please save the date and await further information on the conference and instructions for booking.

We look forward to welcoming you in Cambridge (or online) for what promises to be yet another excellent and inspiring conference.

Yours Sincerely,

Professor Louise Gullifer K.C. (hon) FBA
