The 11th Workshop of the Economic Evaluation of International Commercial Law Reform (EE ICLR) Project took place on 23 February 2025 at the University of Cambridge, Gonville and Caius College, and online. The Workshop brought together 11 participants.
The project operates under the auspices of the Cape Town Convention Academic Project, in partnership with the UNIDROIT Foundation, and the Aviation Working Group. Its primary objective is to establish a framework for conducting economic analyses of international commercial law reform. Previous workshops led to the development of a Framework for revaluating the economic impact of such reforms, along with a Guide to the Framework.
Following the 10th Workshop and an intersessional meeting, the 11th Workshop focused on finalising the Framework and the Guide by examining their applicability through a Case Study. The project group suggested a limited number of additional changes to be made. As a next step, the Framework and draft Guide will be subject to a targeted consultation.
A full report for the Workshop will be posted in the coming weeks on the website of the UNIDROIT Foundation and the Cape Town Convention Academic Project.
