The 10th Workshop of the Economic Evaluation of International Commercial Law Reform (EE ICLR) Project took place on 17 September 2024 at the seat of UNIDROIT in Rome and online. The Workshop was attended by 16 participants.
The project is managed under the auspices of the Cape Town Convention Academic Project in partnership with the UNIDROIT Foundation and the Aviation Working Group. Its primary purpose is to develop a framework for conducting economic analyses of international commercial law reform. The previous workshops resulted in the development of a Framework consisting of various Factors to capture different aspects of the economic impact of international commercial law reforms.
Building on the outcomes of the 9th Workshop and two intersessional meetings, the 10th Workshop aimed at developing further guidance to support the Framework. The Workshop focused on the practical application of the Framework and the Guide from both legal and economic perspectives. The project group reviewed the changes made to the Guide and discussed different issues related to the Framework, including its uses and methodology.
A full report for the Workshop will be posted in the coming weeks on the website of the UNIDROIT Foundation and the Cape Town Convention Academic Project.
